AirlineRatings.com recently published a list of the world’s best airlines. Sadly, no U.S. carriers were included in the list. Looks like the U.S. needs to step up their game to compare with the luxurious and sleek airlines of Asia and the Middle East. The article gives opinions on why the U.S. airlines trail behind foreign carriers, most have to do with profitability and financial aspects. But many passengers also feel that most foreign airline flight crews are friendlier and more accommodating than US crews. Collecting airline miles to use on flights is one thing, but what if you want to use those miles for another mode of transportation, say a train, for example? One airline that is now offering rewards members the opportunity to do this is British Airways.
Not only are British Airways Avios some of the simplest points to collect, but they are also extremely versatile and can be redeemed for many rewards, including Eurostar train network tickets. Eurostar connects the UK, France, and Belgium and the speed and ease of train travel makes redeeming your Avios for Eurostar instead of a flight worthwhile. The Points Guy also notes free or discounted children’s tickets, free luggage, and the lack of taxes or fees as reasons in support of selecting the train service over a flight.
If you’re looking into a trip to Europe and would like to buy points that can be redeemed for train tickets, contact us today!
